Whoever thought a restaurant with a war theme could be romantic? A guy named David Tallichet, who envisioned a half—bombed-out French farmhouse, the headquarters for WWI American flyers, as a restaurant serving American food. He opened the first 94th Aero Squadron—named for the famous WWI unit—near a civil aviation airport in California and later opened other locations, including one here, near McDonnell Douglas, in It was a surprisingly romantic-looking building despite the military artifacts.

Inside were six fireplaces, and the dining room floor was stair-stepped to allow more diners to see the runway. At night, the lights were dimmed for better viewing, and headphones at the tables allowed customers to listen to the pretaped chatter between air traffic control and planes.

All of these touches made it a popular date spot. It was a well-loved happy hour hangout, too, particularly among McDonnell Douglas employees. The place also got a surprising amount of political traffic, probably because it was near the airport.

I Make it my personal mission to help you create the perfect magical This modern venue has professional services, I planned my rehearsal dinner last minute and Vanessa was very flexible and was great at helping me put together a menu and details in a timely manner.

She was very responsive and understood and worked within my budget. The staff day of the day was very accommodating to my last minute additions and the food was incredible. I highly recommend this for a stress free successful rehearsal dinner.

The most perfect experience. I was not in Miami when I was venue hunting for our tiny elopement wedding. The number of unpredictable factors were too many. I wasn't sure about how the weather would be on our wedding day, how the venue arrangements would be etc. Our event manager Silmara was an angel sent from above. She arranged the perfect florist too for us who really just took into account my color theme and made the most beautiful arrangements and bouquet that fit very well within our budget.

On our wedding day it started to rain and although we had originally booked the patio for our event, Silmara was amazingly kind enough to take into account the unpredictable weather and gave us a beautiful indoor hall for our wedding and she got everything arranged perfectly there in 10 minutes! And that included small things like setting the lights to match my theme! I don't think our wedding could have been more perfect. I would recommend 94th Squadron to anyone out there. The venue itself is so beautiful and the food is beyond amazing.

But the hospitality and service here is unmatched! On point with everything. Elsa was our coordinator and she did a fabulous job! I recommend the services of 94 TH Aero Squadron Restaurant to make your Wedding Day that very special day you always wanted, that will be remembered and cherished by you and all your guests for many years to come.

So, we had to get her the food that we thought she would enjoy. Other than that Excellent food and very nice ambiance. We especially loved the paella and the arroz con leche. As alwaysa first class experience and the winter spice menu was a very pleasant surprise.

The few times we have gone were a nice experience. This time my wife's fish and shrimp tasted bad In addition we had a couple at a table nearby playing music videos on their phones very loud. So between the restaurant's music, the rude couple's music and the bad fish we did not enjoy our time. The restaurant offered a replacement meal for my wife and we took both our meals and left. Lastly the parking can be challenging, but through no fault of the management but the FL road work.

Excellent value. Nice setting with Van Nuys airport runway view. I'd been aware of the 94th for decades, but never had occasion to try it. I'm so glad we finally did. The prime rib was very nice, accompanied by a memorably good MacMurray pinot noir. The view and the unique feeling of the place are truly distinctive as well. Looking forward to visiting again and trying their classic Aviation cocktail. For those of us from the Westside who miss the aeronautical views and vibe of the late, great Typhoon at Santa Monica Airport, it's well worth a hop over the hill for a different style of cuisine with an equally delightful, aviation-themed experience.

The food quality and the display of the Sunday Brunch was terrible, the food is keep in individual pots that are hard to open and the food is generally cold. My last few trips have left me unhappy with the level of service.

This time the server was amazing for about the first 30 minutes then as our morning progressed she was gone. We had to get the hostess to help acquire our check and ask random servers to help us with our needs.

This always seems to be a pattern that has yet to be addressed even when letting a hostess or manager know. Please properly train your staff. Best variety and very clean and sanitary buffet! I was not afraid to eat here.

Food and service was excellent, repeat customer. Would definitely recommend. Service was excellent as well. This place is tired and old so much so that just being there made me feel tired and old. Sunday Buffet Brunch was very good, as usual. The food selection is more than ample with good tasting items. The service from Nicole, our server, Jose, Executive Chef, and Rob, Manager was great as they were friendly, professional and competent.

Before arriving, I reserved a table for four on opentable. Upon arriving, the hostess cheerfully greeted us, informing us that our table would be ready at the scheduled time. The hostess sat us in a table across from the rows located near the window facing the airstrip. It was PM and not many of the tables were occupied. After being seated, we waited a lengthy time for someone to take our drink order. The manager-type woman dressed in black, asked us what we would like to drink, writing down our order on a piece of paper.Seasoned and slow-roasted prime rib of beef, served with au jus and a creamy horseradish.
